Above the kalpas
The nine Graiveyaka
ग्रैवेयक
Nine abodes at the throat of the cosmic figure, where rank and desire both come to an end.
Three triads of three: lower with 111 vimānas, middle with 107, upper with 100. Three hundred and eighteen in all, and lifespans running 23 to 31 sāgaropama, one more for each tier you climb.
Everything that made the kalpa heavens social is gone. No Indra, no hierarchy, no attendants, no consorts. Each god is ahamindra: self-sovereign, alone, and content.
The name comes from grīvā, neck. The cosmic figure's tiers are anatomical, and this is where the shoulders narrow toward the head.
