The radish is refused in all five of its parts, the tradition says - root, leaf, flower, pod and seed - which makes it the one plant on the list that is a common body above the ground as well as below.
Mūlaka, Raphanus sativus. The verses name it once; the handbooks add the five parts, and the recitation says so: mūḷā nā pāṃc aṅg. It is with sūraṇa and garlic on the oldest short lists. The roots entry has the rest of the root-kinds.
