The 28 nakṣatras — Abhijit counted among them — stand at 884 yojana, just above the moon they serve. The moon passes through them month by month, and the calendar names its days by which mansion holds the moon.
Every moon in the human world has its own set of 28. Each nakṣatra's vimāna is borne by 4,000 gods. They move faster than the grahas; only the stars are quicker.
