Asaṃkhyāta
Finite, real, bounded, and permanently beyond counting. Nine ranks of it.
This is the category that makes Jain cosmology work. When a text says one āvalikā holds innumerable Samaya, it is not declining to answer. Asaṃkhyāta is a located region of the number line with nine named grades: parītāsaṃkhyāta, yuktāsaṃkhyāta and asaṃkhyātāsaṃkhyāta, each in a least, a middle and a greatest.
Two of the nine are pinned to real quantities. Jaghanya yuktāsaṃkhyāta is exactly the number of samaya in one āvalikā. And the space-points of the Loka fall in the third rank, which is why the universe can be finite and still uncountable.
Everything measured by Palyopama and Sāgaropama lives in this category too. Those spans are not infinite. They are asaṃkhyāta: bounded, definite, and never reachable by multiplication.
Add one to the greatest of the nine and you cross into Ananta.
