Campā

By Hemacandra's reckoning, as the atlas carries it, Vāsupūjya was born here, and Vāsupūjya attained nirvāṇa here as well. Ancient Campā, capital of Aṅga, is at Champanagar on the Gaṅgā by Bhagalpur, and the identification is secure. Of the twenty-four only Vāsupūjya left neither from Sammeta Śikhara nor from a mountain of his own; he left from his own city.
