Utkṛṣṭa Parītāsaṃkhyāta

The greatest of the Parītāsaṃkhyāta, the 2nd rank on the ladder of number.
Jain mathematics grades quantity into twenty-one kinds: three numerable, nine innumerable and nine infinite. Each rank comes in a least, a middle and a greatest, and each greatest is one less than the least of the rank above, so the twenty-one tile the whole of number without a gap.
This rank carries no separately named quantity; it is defined by its neighbours, as most of the twenty-one are.
