The first lake, on the summit of Himavān. Three rivers leave it, more than any other except its northern twin.
1,000 yojana long, 500 wide, 10 deep. The goddess Śrī lives on the lotus at its centre.
Gaṅgā leaves by the eastern gate, Sindhu by the western, Rohitāsyā by the northern. Gaṅgā runs 500 yojana east along the mountaintop before turning south and falling into Bharat Kṣetra, and where it lands there is a pool 60 yojana wide with a diamond hill standing in it.
