Samaya 2 and 6 · the door

The second samaya: the rod spreads east and west into a plane the whole breadth of the universe - a door, as the texts call it, standing on its edge.
Seen from the front it is the loka's whole silhouette; seen from above it is a single line through the middle. The view draws both, because in elevation a door and a churn look the same, and only the plan tells them apart.
In this samaya, and again in the sixth and the seventh, the soul works through the gross body and the karmic body together, the audārika-miśra yoga. The next step is the churn.
