Kauśāmbī

By Hemacandra's reckoning, as the atlas carries it, Padmaprabha was born here. The mound at Kosam is ancient Kauśāmbī; Pabhosā hill beside it carries Jain inscriptions from before the common era, and the temple to Padmaprabha stands at its foot.

The dot on the map is Kosam, near Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh; the identification is settled by archaeology. Every site in this chapter is graded the same way, and the section says why.
