Padmaprabha's city, on the Yamunā, one of the great cities of the Buddha's and Mahāvīra's day.
By Hemacandra's reckoning, as the atlas carries it, Padmaprabha was born here. The mound at Kosam is ancient Kauśāmbī; Pabhosā hill beside it carries Jain inscriptions from before the common era, and the temple to Padmaprabha stands at its foot.
