A temple to Ādinātha with four faces, one to each direction, on a forest of pillars said to number 1,444 with no two carved alike.
Built in the fifteenth century - the date given is 1439 - by Dharṇā Śāh, a minister, under Rāṇā Kumbhā of Mewar, to the plan of the architect Depāka. The four-faced (caumukha) image of Ādinātha lets the temple be entered from any side, and the halls are lit from above through their domes.
The pillar count is the traditional one and is not printed here as a survey. Like Śatruñjaya and Dilwara, this is a place the tradition built rather than a place the texts name, and the map colours it apart.
