The six lake goddesses

Śrī, Hrī, Dhṛti, Kīrti, Buddhi, Lakṣmī

श्री ह्री धृति कीर्ति बुद्धि लक्ष्मी

Six goddesses, one on the lotus at the centre of each summit lake.

Their names are the qualities they are: prosperity, modesty, steadfastness, renown, intelligence, good fortune. Each lives one palyopama with a full retinue — sāmānika gods who rank as her equals, a council, bodyguards and armies.

Śrī on Padma Draha, Hrī on Mahāpadma Draha, Dhṛti on Tigiñcha Draha, Kīrti on Kesarī Draha, Buddhi on Mahāpuṇḍarīka Draha, Lakṣmī on Puṇḍarīka Draha. The first three serve the Indra of the Saudharma heaven, the last three the Indra of Īśāna.

They are not worshipped for salvation. In Jain terms they are unliberated souls in an exceptionally comfortable birth, on the same ladder as everyone else.
