Keepers · north, outer rampart
Bhavanādhipati doorkeepers
भवनाधिपति द्वारपाल
Two lords of the mansion-dwelling gods, at the north gate of the silver wall.
The Bhavanapati raised this rampart, and they keep its northern gate.
Each of the three ramparts is kept by the class of gods that raised it, so a gate names its builders twice over. Their opposite numbers at the jewel wall are the Vaimānika keepers; between them stand the gates of the gold rampart.

Keeper · gate of the jewel rampart
Tumburu
तुम्बुरु
The doorkeeper of the innermost wall, carrying a skull-crowned club and a garland of skulls.
A startling figure to find at the threshold of the highest court, and Hemacandra puts him there without softening the description.
He guards the gate the twelve companies pass through to sit down.
