Sorrow with some happiness. Lasts 1 crore-crore sāgaropama less 42,000 years.
The age of religion. Twenty-three of the twenty-four Tīrthaṅkaras of this half-cycle appear in it, from Ajitanātha through to Mahāvīra, along with the twelve cakravartīs, nine Baladevas, nine Vāsudevas and nine Prati-vāsudevas.
It ended three years and eight and a half months before Mahāvīra's liberation. Mahāvideha Kṣetra stays permanently in a condition matching this age, which is why a Tīrthaṅkara is always present there.
