Suṣamā-duḥṣamā

सुषम-दुःषमा

Happy with a little sorrow. Lasts 2 crore-crore sāgaropama.

The turning point of the whole cycle. Toward the end of this age the kalpavṛkṣa begin to fail and people start, for the first time, to quarrel over what is left.

Fourteen Kulakaras arise to give rules, the last of them Nābhi. His son Ṛṣabhanātha teaches agriculture, fire, writing, arithmetic, pottery, weaving and kingship, then renounces all of it and becomes the first Tīrthaṅkara of this half-cycle. His son Bharata Cakravartī becomes the first cakravartī.

Conditions otherwise match Haimavat Kṣetra and Hairaṇyavat Kṣetra.
