Dhūmaprabhā

धूमप्रभा

The smoke earth. Only three lakh hells remain, and the lifespans have grown enormous.

Cold now dominates. The number of hells has dropped by two thirds from the earth above while lifespans have nearly doubled: fewer beings, held far longer.

No soul is reborn from the fifth earth or below directly into a human birth that ends in liberation. The climb back takes many lives.

Its proper name is Ariṣṭā; Dhūmaprabhā is the descriptive one, naming what the earth is made of or looks like. It holds 5 storeys of hells stacked one below another.
