The destroyers' ladder

Kṣapaka-śreṇī

क्षपकश्रेणी

The ladder that burns delusion out. It reaches the twelfth rung, from which there is no fall, and goes on to the crown.

Beginning at the eighth, the destroyer ends thirty-six sub-types at the ninth, the last subtle greed at the tenth, and stands at kṣīṇa-moha with mohanīya gone for good. Nothing can bring a soul on this ladder down.

At the close of the twelfth the other three ghātiyā end; the thirteenth is omniscience; the fourteenth is the five short vowels; and then Siddhaśilā.
