Mokṣa
The end of rebirth. The soul sheds all karma, rises to the top of the universe, and stays.
In Jain terms the soul is naturally weightless and naturally upward-moving. Karma is a fine material substance that sticks to it and drags it into bodies. Remove the karma and the soul rises of its own nature.
It goes straight up, in one instant, and stops at the boundary of occupied space, because motion needs a medium and beyond that boundary there is none. That resting place is Siddhaśilā.
A siddha has no body, no name, no gender, no location relative to other siddhas, and no further events. Infinite knowledge, infinite perception, infinite bliss, infinite energy — and nothing whatever happens.
The whole map exists to say where this is possible: in 170 places, during certain ages, from a human birth. That is a narrow gate, and the narrowness is the point.
