Neminātha's mountain: he renounced here, attained omniscience here, and attained nirvāṇa here - three of his five kalyāṇakas on one mountain.
Ujjayanta or Raivataka in the texts, Girnār above Junagadh today. Nemi came to it after turning his wedding procession back at the sight of the animals penned for the feast; the mountain's temples are his, and the peak is his nirvāṇa. He was born at Śauryapura, far to the north.
The identification is settled; the mountain has never been anything else. The Neminātha temple below the peak is medieval, with inscriptions of the twelfth century, and the climb to it and past it is the pilgrimage.
